Wow. Beautiful. Black and white looks so dramatic. Living in Southern California, I really appreciate and miss such gorgeous skies. I hope the storms aren’t too severe.

Very cool photos. I’m getting a new camera today – you guys are all making me embarrassed of my iphone photos.

I laughed when I read your comment. If you only knew!
These pictures were ALL taken using my iPhone. I actually have a pretty decent camera, but I find it cumbersome to carry while walking the dogs so I almost always use my iPhone. Combine that with Instagram and sometimes you can even make the somewhat good photos look even better. Hoping to see some more iPhone photos on your blog soon!

Awesome cloud photos, really amazing in black and white. The first one looks like an Ansel Adams shot. Be careful of the thunderstorms though!

Thanks! They were pretty ominous looking, but no rain, thunder or lightning until we were driving out of the park. I just had to capture them. They were amazing looking.

      • June 2, 2013 at 2:30 PM

Well, you’re braver than me….I go running home at the first sign of a black cloud! 🙂
They really are beautiful in their own way.

Thanks Gizmo! I don’t mind them, but Daisy does. She is terrified of them. I was all ready to leave, but she had no reaction to the clouds whatsoever, maybe because there was no thunder or lightning while we were there.

Absolutely gorgeous shots, as usual. I feel like something apocalyptic is getting ready to happen in the third one down. :O

Love the sun’s rays shining through the clouds in that first shot. These pictures definitely show the beauty and power of nature.

That’s one of my favorites too Miss Harper Lee. It’s was amazing to see.

  20. June 2, 2013 at 9:23 PM

Stunning shots Mel! I love the contrasts in the clouds and then the rays of sunshine streaming through. They’ve come up really striking in B&W. Jasper doesn’t look at all concerned 🙂

Thanks Sue! Yeah. The clouds were incredible. Funny enough, we had no rain, thunder or lightning from them until we were already in the car and leaving.

  21. June 3, 2013 at 6:04 AM

WOW!! Love, love the pictures. The storm made for an awesome black and white presentation. Thanks for sharing.
