Favorite Video Friday – Take your dog for a walk

August 4, 2017 4 comments

This week’s Favorite Friday video features a dog named Colby going for a walk. Have you ever seen such joy before?

Consider this week’s video a reminder to get out there and walk your dog. 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Chihuahua Takedown

September 8, 2016 5 comments

I don’t know about you, but my dogs love stuffed animals. Daisy loves them because she is a Lab and carrying something in her mouth (especially when she is excited or happy) is almost instinctive. It’s not unusual to find 10-12 of these toys in her kennel at any one time.

Jasper and Cupcake love them because the usually have a squeaker in them, and who doesn’t love a squeaker? Cupcake used to run around the house squeaking her stuffie over and over again. Jasper loves to find the squeaker, and eradicate it from t’s unsuspecting host. Once it has been removed, he must remove the stuffing to make sure there are no other stray squeakers running around.

But, none of my 3 dogs have ever taken a stuffie and whipped it around, trying to beat the beast to death. I don’t know why, but it has never happened at Casa del Mel.

I think that’s partly why I was so fascinated by this week’s video selection. It features an adorable Chihuahua named, Poochino, taking on two stuffies, mano y mano. The video is cleverly edited, filmed in slow-motion and has some funny sound effects. I loved watching “Poochino” attack his toys with playful enthusiasm. It’s hard not to love a Chihuahua demonstrating a serious stuffie takedown. I hope you agree.

Happy Friday everyone! 🙂

Favorite Video Friday – Go Pro Dog Magic

June 4, 2015 Leave a comment

This weeks Favorite Friday video doesn’t really have a story or a theme or some overwhelmingly cuteness. It just struck my fancy because it was cool to watch.  (Did that sound too boring?)

Let me put it this way, this video contains puppies, dogs, boys and girls and… 52 Go Pro cameras. The editing is phenomenal and the visual still shots are amazing.  You’ve either got to be dedicated, love what you do, or be downright crazy to do what these guys did. 52 cameras! Watch it and you’ll see what I mean.

If you want to see how they did it, watch the second video below. It’s pretty interesting.

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Border Collie Ballet

We’re heading into the last throes of fall here in Minnesota. The leaves are peaking, the bees and mosquitoes have called it a day and the sun is setting earlier and earlier every day.

Perhaps a last look at summer fun is in store before we settle in for the polar vortex (or whatever else we have in store this year). It seems appropriate that we enjoy a little fun in the sun (ballet style) before we put away all the garden hoses. Don’t you think? 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Iso in Slow Motion (again)

August 15, 2013 4 comments

Back in February of 2011, I shared a slo-mo video featuring Iso, a Dachshund puppy, playing on a couch. Then  in March of 2011, I shared another one of Iso getting a bath. They are still some of my most favorite videos of all time since I first started the Favorite Friday Video series I began on my blog.

Since then, there haven’t been a lot of videos to share of Iso. As with the rest of us, life just happens. We get busy and we don’t have the time we used to have. I am sure that is what happened to Iso’s owners. After all, making a slo-mo video, editing it and setting it to music is no small task.

But then, I received a little notification in my email last week. A new Iso video had been posted! It’s not as long as his other ones, but it still made me smile. I thought I would share it and another one I found from 2012. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

By the way, if you haven’t seen the other two I mentioned above. I highly recommend them. They are truly awesome.

Happy Friday everyone!

Ahhhh! Another lovely spring day in Minnesota. Who doesn’t love days like this?

Or this?

So is it really any wonder that I chose this for my video this week? Yeah. I didn’t think so.

Happy Friday everyone!

Send us some sun will ya?

Favorite Video Friday – Dog Park Fun in Slow Motion (Watch the fur fly)

December 27, 2012 11 comments

I don’t know if you’re up for it, but I have a little silent movie action to share with you today (or in this case, a YouTube video).

I found this awesome slow motion video a couple of weeks ago, but was hesitant to share it with you because it had no sound. But after watching it numerous times, I just couldn’t help but post it for Favorite Video Friday.

There is just something about seeing the fluidity of motion between the dogs as they play in the snow. Then, there is the and the beauty of of it all. Pay special attention to the Sheepdog (like you could miss him!) – he is the star of the show and just amazing to watch. Seeing him move as his fur flies all around is a sight to behold. I guarantee you won’t be bored.

Happy Friday and Happy New Year everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – A boy, his dog and a bike

May 31, 2012 21 comments

This week’s video is a bit outside the adorable-dog-doing-something-cute genre, but I had to share it anyways. First, it contains a Sheltie (love!). Second, the Sheltie is following his boy as he does amazing things on his bike. Third, the video is just plain amazing to watch.

Happy Friday!

Favorite Video Friday – Basset Hound in Slo-Mo

April 26, 2012 5 comments

I admit it. I have a thing for Bassets. Well, two little Bassets in particular. We see them each evening at or dog park and they are absolutely adorable. Their names are Abby and Laine

I always know that when they see me they will run up for a little attention. Lainie will roll over so I can give her a belly rub and Abby is happy with a scratch behind the ears. I can’t help it. They make me smile.

That’s why this slo-mo video of a Basset drew my attention. Although this Basset is so very clearly a boy, he reminded me if the girls. Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Iso Takes a Bath (in Slow Motion)

Okay. So I got a little gushy over this one. But, who can resist a Dachshund puppy… taking a bath… in slow motion?
Not to mention the music was a perfect match.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. 🙂
