You know that feeling when you slide into bed after putting on a fresh set of clean sheets? Yeah. That. 🙂

Favorite Video Friday – Getting your ya-yas out

October 5, 2017 1 comment

Don’t you ever feel like you just have to get it all out?

Maybe you’ve had a bad day. Or, maybe you worked really hard all week and just need to get your ya-yas out. Or maybe, you’ve felt cooped up all week and just really need to let loose.

Either way, when that moment comes and you want to carry on and shake it all off? Do it.

Not sure how to do it? Watch Candy the English Bulldog. She’s got the right idea. 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – The Doggie Alarm Clock

April 10, 2015 10 comments

Cute Maggie. #puppymilldog #fosterdog #SheltieI have decided that it is time for Foster Maggie and I to have a talk. It seems she has appointed herself as my doggie alarm clock where one was not needed. I’m not sure why she felt that she needed to fill this role, but I am hoping that our discussion will educate her on the benefits of sleeping in (or hitting snooze).

Life before Maggie was peaceful and slumber-rific. My dogs never felt the need to wake me up in the morning. They usually just waited until I got up. They might have paced between the living room and my bedroom before, but they never barked or woke me up. Weekends were the best, they let me sleep in.

But now, we have Maggie and she does not have a snooze button. Nor does she understand weekends or the benefits of sleeping in.

I think that is why this week’s video resonated with me so much today. I hope you do not have a doggie alarm clock, but if you do, there are many of us who can relate. 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – A dog and his best friend

May 29, 2014 3 comments

Summer is a time to get together with old (and new) friends and have a great time. At least, I have always found that to be the case with humans. But what about dogs? Do they reconnect with their friends too?

Maybe so.

It certainly seems to be the case with this Lab and his best friend.

Kind of brings to mind Tom Hanks and his best friend, Wilson (from the movie Cast Away) doesn’t it? 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – A Great Dane puddles onto the floor

May 8, 2014 9 comments

Have you ever had one of those days where you are so tired that you literally have to pour yourself out of bed?

Do you ever find that your skeleton has mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the night and your body is incapable to doing anything but turning into a puddle on the floor?

Yeah. That.

Happy Friday everyone! 🙂

Favorite Video Friday – Dog Park Dance

January 3, 2014 13 comments

If you live in Minnesota then you know just how cold it has been. We are going on almost a month of frigid temperatures now. Normally we see this for about a week in January, but it started in December this year and is expected to continue for at least another week.

Monday’s high is supposed to be -14 degrees. No joke. The low? -23 to -25 degrees. That’s why I am focused on getting my dogs out as much as possible over the next two days when temps will be above 10 degrees.

Yesterday, the temperature was 1 degree above zero. It was a heat wave. The dogs couldn’t wait to get to the dog park and get their ya-yas out. This is a video of our first few minutes there. As you can see Jasper is very excited and Cupcake was only to express her happiness vocally. I hope you’ll get a kick out of their antics.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Favorite Video Friday – Lazy Dog and Holiday Eating

December 27, 2013 11 comments

I hope you all had a lovely holiday. We were blessed enough to spend time with the whole family and to have good food to enjoy at the same time.

Given the cookies, cakes, chocolate, pies, and everything else enjoyed this Christmas, I thought this video was most appropriate.

Admit it. Isn’t this how many of us felt by the end of the holiday?

Favorite Video Friday – Fall, leaves and silly dogs

It seems Friday has come around again. Time for another video don’t you think?

I’m going to make this one short and sweet. Think fall, leaves and silly dogs. 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Spring Fever Zoomies

April 25, 2013 8 comments

I don’t know about you, but now that the snow has all but disappeared and the temperatures are starting to warm up (60’s and 70’s predicted for this weekend!), I am ready to get out  and enjoy the weather for as much and as long as I can. I feel like a dog with the zoomies!

I want to dog my hands into the fresh earth and make something grow.

I want to clean out closets and do some spring cleaning.

I want to speed walk with my dogs at the dog park.

The truth is… I feel like a dog with the zoomies!

Maybe that is why this video seemed to resonate with me today. A beach, warm sand, a dog and the sun shining brightly down upon us. Ah yes. That is exactly what I want.

Happy Spring and Happy Friday everyone!

What goofy thing does your dog do?

November 28, 2012 34 comments

Daisy. Giving me “the look”.

One of the things I love most about dogs is their silly side. I haven’t yet met a dog who hasn’t been able to make me laugh. Some dogs chase flies, others sleep with their favorite toy, and many others just get the zoomies and race around the house or yard like crazy dogs. How can one not laugh?

Each of my three dogs has their own silly behavior that is unique just to them.

  • Cupcake loves to carry her stuffed toy over to me and get me to chase her so I can catch her and give her a belly rub.
  • Jasper loves to have me hold his indoor ball out at arm’s length while he races around the coffee table and pretends to leap up to grab it before running around the coffee table again (it really is quite hilarious).
  • Daisy loves to run around the house with her stuffed toy in her mouth. When she is sitting on one end of the couch she will slowly dip her head and turn it toward me and give me “the look,” before thumping her tail and scooting over for her belly rub.

It’s hard not to laugh at them They can be so goofy. I am sure my cat, Nick, look at them much like Garfield looked at Odie. Those darn goofy dogs!

I know each dog is their own individual, so it made me wonder…

What goofy behavior does your dog do that makes you laugh?

Cupcake being silly.
