Favorite Video Friday – Let Spring begin!

April 14, 2017 Leave a comment

To me, Easter has always signaled the official beginning of spring. Maybe it’s the message of renewal and rebirth, or just the timing of when it occurs (April), but it always feels like Easter is when all the tulips and daffodils start to bloom and the birds start singing their love songs. It’s usually around this time that the buds fall from the trees and fresh new green leaves start to unfurl. Suddenly, everywhere you look there is green!

Spring signals the coming of summer and more time outdoors. It means more hikes, hanging out with our friends (and dogs), camping, gardening, playing ball on the field and in the yard, and swimming. I think that is why I loved this video so much. It was taken last year, but it signals all the things I look forward to each and every spring. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Border Collie plays Futevolei

May 13, 2016 4 comments

Minnesota has been a somewhat gloomy and rainy place this week. I think I’ve seen the sun three times the whole week, and only for a few minutes at a time. It’s a rather depressing.

A person and her dogs has to have some sun! We’ve gots to have it.

So what do you do when the weather where you live is crap? Find a video that has the sun in it.

Fortunately, this week’s video features sun, a beach and an amazing Border Collie, named Scotch, who knows how to play Futevolei with his human and his friends. I can’t help but be impressed with this dog (okay, and by the amazing looking men with him). He is amazing.

Watch Scotch, take in the sun and sand, and enjoy.

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – A last hurrah to summer

September 3, 2015 5 comments

This Labor Day weekend feels like the last of the glory days of summer for 2015. Even though the temperatures are in the 80’s and 90’s and the humidity is sky-high, the sunlit nights are waning and soon Fall will be here.

I don’t know why, but this video just feels like the last hurrah to summer. Without a doubt, the musical background adds to the ambiance, but it is the most adorable April I love to watch. She is a Border Collie who appears to be much-loved.

I hope you will enjoy this fun, but somewhat nostalgic, video selection this week. If nothing else, it will leave you with a smile and a nice tune rolling around in your head. 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Vici, the cutest little Whippet puppy

May 14, 2015 10 comments

Today’s Favorite Friday video will take your heart, melt it, and leave it in a little puddle on your floor. No seriously. It will.

It’s not just the cute little puppy that grabs your heart.  The two resident dogs will totally capture it too. They were so amazing with little Vici. They played with her, treated her gently and showed her the ropes.

Watching a Border Collie and a Malinois, play with this puppy was a real treat. You do not see breeds like this every day, and to see them play so gently with her tells you a lot about the owner. Border Collies and Malinois’ are extremely intelligent, high energy dogs, that are driven to do a job. They need a handler who understands their needs. The fact that they look so well-adjusted tells you that they have the very best kind of dog owner. I’d say this puppy is going to thrive.

I hope you will love this video as much as I did.

What a beautiful set of dogs.

Happy Friday everyone!

Sheep herding (in pictures)

This past weekend was long, busy and totally awesome. I had the wonderful opportunity to help out at a small local sheep herding trial. It was really amazing. In fact, I learned so much that my brain is exploding.

I thought I would share just a few pictures from the event with you today. (Please forgive some of the photos. My iPhone is not so good with pictures taken from a distance.)
