Favorite Video Friday – Bulldog funnery

May 19, 2017 1 comment

The one thing I love about dogs is their ability to create fun in almost any situation. They can entertain themselves so easily. Give them a cup and they can toss it in the air or prance around with it in their mouth. Give them a kiddie pool and all sorts of hilarity can ensue. They are the court jesters of our very own castles.

I have heard that Bulldogs are the masters at finding fun. They have imagination and unique ways of finding fun.  Columbus, the dog in this week’s video pick, is no exception. He is adorable and sweet and hilariously entertaining. How can you not love him?

Watch Columbus as he has fun in the rain. I hope you are as entertained as I am by his silliness. It definitely makes him very lovable. 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Poppy’s Review

April 28, 2017 7 comments

A couple weeks ago, I shared a video featuring Flow the Trail Dog. It showed a bike rider and his dog, Flow, shredding it up on a mountain. The video was only one of several I found featuring dogs and their bike riders.

The one that made me laugh was the video that featured Poppy, a Staffordshire Bulldog/Pug mix, and her bike rider. In the video, Poppy’s owner reviews her, not the bike. It’s sweet, funny and creative, and Poppy is absolutely adorable. I thought I would share it with you this week.

I hope you will appreciate the humor and love apparent in this video.

Favorite Video Friday – The Great Tennis Ball Chase

April 21, 2017 Leave a comment

If you’ve been following this blog for any significant amount of time, then you know I have a dog who is obsessed with tennis balls. His name is Jasper.

Jasper will chase his tennis balls to the end of the earth. Just when you think he is tired and ready to be done, he brings it to you again so you can throw it just ONE MORE TIME.

Now that we’re in spring, I expect we will be doing a whole lot more ball chasing. That’s why this week’s favorite video is so perfect. It features the most adorable Golden Retriever, named Wilson. I just love him, don’t you?

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Let Spring begin!

April 14, 2017 Leave a comment

To me, Easter has always signaled the official beginning of spring. Maybe it’s the message of renewal and rebirth, or just the timing of when it occurs (April), but it always feels like Easter is when all the tulips and daffodils start to bloom and the birds start singing their love songs. It’s usually around this time that the buds fall from the trees and fresh new green leaves start to unfurl. Suddenly, everywhere you look there is green!

Spring signals the coming of summer and more time outdoors. It means more hikes, hanging out with our friends (and dogs), camping, gardening, playing ball on the field and in the yard, and swimming. I think that is why I loved this video so much. It was taken last year, but it signals all the things I look forward to each and every spring. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Biker and Dog

I don’t know about you, but I often dream of getting away to a cabin in the woods and immersing myself in nature. I love the idea of waking up to the rising sun and the sounds of birds singing to their future loves. I want to hike the well-worn trails of the adventurers before me and take a nap under an old tree.

In all those dreams, there is always a dog beside me. My friend. My companion. My cohort. It would be hard to imagine myself without one.

I think that is why this week’s video find spoke to me. It features biker, Adam Morse, his dog, Flow (what a great dog name, huh?), and the Green Mountains of Vermont. I don’t know about you, but watching Adam and Flow just makes my dreams all the more urgent. What beauty. What companionship.

I hope you love this video as much as I did.

Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Video Friday – Dock Dogs in Slo-Mo

March 24, 2017 10 comments

I love watching dog sports in slow motion. There is just something about watching their fur slowly ruffle in the wind or seeing their skin ripple across their muscles as they run. Whether it be agility, hunting or dock diving, slow motion video shows us more than we ever see with our eyes in the moment.

When that slow motion video is also wonderfully shot and edited, it makes it even more a work of art. That is what I am sharing with you today. Notice how artfully framed this dock diving event is and how well it tells the story.

I wish I had half the skills of the person or persons who created this week’s video.

This week’s Favorite Friday video features dock diving dogs at the 2015 GoPro Mountain games. The GoPro Mountain games are a yearly event held in Colorado that includes dog events, music, running and other sporting events. The next one is June 8-11. Check it out!

I usually like to introduce the weekly Friday video, but today I’m just going to let you watch the cuteness without context or a story. After all, who needs to add context or share a story when there is cuteness like this to share? 🙂

Happy Friday everyone!
