Week 13 - Portrait: High Key #dogwood52 #dogwoodweek13

Cupcake and her teefies

Do you have any dogloquialisms you use to describe your own dog or dog activities? I was watching today’s Favorite Friday video and started wondering if my dogs had some of their own.

What is a dogloquialism you ask?

dog·lo·qui·al·ism: A dog word or phrase that is not formal or literary, typically one used in ordinary or familiar conversation.

Doodad clearly has several of her own. In fact, she has some pretty awesome ones.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized we did have some of our own. Here are a few of them.

Smushyface: That smushed doggie face your dogs get when they wake up from a deep sleep.

Poopsicle: The delicacy also known as frozen poop. (it’s embarrassing to admit that Daisy loves these.)

Teefies: Teeth that peek out when a Sheltie smiles at you.

So how about you? Do you and your dog have some dogloquialisms of your own? I’d love to hear about them.

Happy Friday everyone!

The cat bark: a bark uttered when a cat has been cornered/chased up a tree, or in the presence of seagulls. In the case of seagulls, it is accompanied by wild lunging.
