Favorite Video Friday – Chihuahua Takedown

I don’t know about you, but my dogs love stuffed animals. Daisy loves them because she is a Lab and carrying something in her mouth (especially when she is excited or happy) is almost instinctive. It’s not unusual to find 10-12 of these toys in her kennel at any one time.

Jasper and Cupcake love them because the usually have a squeaker in them, and who doesn’t love a squeaker? Cupcake used to run around the house squeaking her stuffie over and over again. Jasper loves to find the squeaker, and eradicate it from t’s unsuspecting host. Once it has been removed, he must remove the stuffing to make sure there are no other stray squeakers running around.

But, none of my 3 dogs have ever taken a stuffie and whipped it around, trying to beat the beast to death. I don’t know why, but it has never happened at Casa del Mel.

I think that’s partly why I was so fascinated by this week’s video selection. It features an adorable Chihuahua named, Poochino, taking on two stuffies, mano y mano. The video is cleverly edited, filmed in slow-motion and has some funny sound effects. I loved watching “Poochino” attack his toys with playful enthusiasm. It’s hard not to love a Chihuahua demonstrating a serious stuffie takedown. I hope you agree.

Happy Friday everyone! 🙂

Hehe the video is hilarious! I’ve never had Bonnie whip her toys about like that either, she is definitely more like your Jasper with her stuffed toys 🙂

So funny! I’ve been trying to get good video of Rita doing that for ages. Just can’t seem to get a decent one though! She totally shakes toys like that – which is what made me think she was part terrier (which was somewhat confirmed by her DNA test – said she has a good probability of having a little terrier in her). Rita shakes her toys so hard that she bounces from foot to foot.

Our beagle used to immediately de-flufferize toys, and then do a squeakerectomy. Then she would get the squeaker between her paws, and pull the little stopper on top out with her tiny front teeth. She knew that was the only way to TRULY kill the squeaker. (She was a very smart dog!)
